Relax!
No need to rush. Time is on your side. Bikes weave seamlessly through the urban landscape. Congestion, cramped spaces and concealment is a car thing.
This is the good life!
Happy Cycling!

The Art of Bicycling
Some people – some clever photographers – can make a rusty old bike look like art. Like Copenhagen guy Thomas Rousing.
The beauty of a shadow!
Come shine…
… or rain.

What To Drink After #VikingBiking
If you follow either Cycle Chic or Copenhagenize you may have seen the #vikingbiking hashtag on Twitter or Instagram. We were amused to discover that a variation of the hashtag exists as a product. Biking Viking coffee, available online at Ingebretsens.
Uh oh... we just discovered they have chocolate, too.
Portraits of cyclists: Lilian - "The day before I gave birth to my son, I was on my bike"
"I
cycle everyday. So, I really need my bike and I love this one,
especially the color."
"What
do you like when you bike in winter?"
"I
like to get some fresh air and to exercice."
"What
would be your tips to cycle in winter? Do you wear specific clothes?"
"You
should not dress to warmly, since you produce heat while you’re
cycling. You really don’t need skiing clothes. You just need to
wear a windproof outfit and of course a warm pair of gloves."
"What
is your most unforgettable memory related to your bike?"
"The
day before I gave birth to my son, the « water breaking »
happened when I was on my bike on my way to the hospital".
Even
if it seems incredible for a lot of other countries, here in
Danemark, women cycle when they are pregnant, and they even bike with
contractions to the hospital. Read here.

Fashion Week Girl: “Leather and fur is the perfect combination to cycle in winter”
“I'm from Copenhagen. I cycle everyday and I love my bike even if it's falling apart.”
“What would be your tips to cycle in winter? Do you wear specific clothes?”
“I like to look good and of course I want to feel warm. Leather and fur is the perfect combination. You can find these clothes in vintage shops.”
“What do you like when you bike in winter?”
“When there is snow on the ground, the noise is different. The city is more quiet”.
“Do you have a funny story which happened while you were cycling?”
“One day the weather was really cold and the ground very slippery, a police car turned right and as I did not see it, I ended up directly on their bonnet. I was lying on their car but I had nothing, so it was finally a kind of a funny story.”

Well, hello there ;) This is my way of congratulating Mikael @_Cycle_Chic a couple of days ago, on his birthday. Hey, I'm sure he bicycled himself on his birthday - the guy who the first time I met him, told me he didn't mind even bicycling all the way to Copenhagen Airport.
Here's three of my favorite freezy Cycle Chic moments - love the photos, love the short spot on text.
Moment #1:
... I would add also walking with high heels...
Moment #2:
Moment #3:
Happy birthday again, Mikael!
And see you again next Friday, guys.

My Favourite Snowstorm Photos
It's always hard to make a favourites list when you have seven years of archive photos. It's snowing out there in Copenhagen this morning (-18 C with the windchill, by the way), so here's a (long) selection of my favourite snowstorm photos.
80% of Copenhageners cycle all winter. In a snowstorm, that will drop further, but there are still a wonderful amount of bicycle users going about their business on bikes in the city.
Over at Copenhagenize.com you can read about how a modern city prioritizes snow clearance for bicycle traffic in the Ultimate Snow Clearance Blogpost. Here, you can see how Copenhageners just get on with it. As my mother would say, it's "put a sweater on" weather today.
Walk or ride. It's your choice.
Cycling is sociable, even in the snow.
Sometimes the snow catches up with the snow clearance but it is a temporary situation. The plows are coming soon.
Morning traffic in a headwind.
Nighttime winter cycling.
Sometimes you have a tailwind. Sometimes not.
Morning rush hour on the world's busiest bicycle street, Nørrebrogade.
Multitasking on a bicycle in the snow.
Your closet is filled with cycling clothes.
Little changes in the snow. Still stuff to transport. Places to go, people to see.
Viking Biking.
Morning rush hour on Hans Christian Andersen Boulevard at left and Nordre Fasanvej, at right.
Cycling is just walking with wheels.
Heading home in the evening.
Dapper on a Friday night.
A pillar of calm in a world of chaos.
Rise out of the saddle, or don't. It's up to you.
Always time for a conversation on a bicycle.
