The Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo
One Winter afternoon she suddenly showed. The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo. Thus inspired I searched my archives for her sisters and brothers.
"I am not afraid to keep on living"
The mysterious double band has many origins but almost always refers to past events.
"Viggo" could be himself, his brother or a friend.
Ambiguity: modern symbols right - ancient symbols left.

Choo Choo Cycling
In the late 1980's the Danish railways were at last forced to accept cycles in the trains. It proved an immediate success.
Today millions of people commute every year by combining train and cycling. And 13 of the busiest railway stations have repair shops to take care of your bike if needed.
Designing the bicycle cars was a challenge. For the first few years cyclists and passengers had to struggle for the same tight space in front of the doors. Now there are dedicated cycle cars with flexible parking areas.
Since last year its been free to bring your bike on the train. Further increasing the number of people who combine cycle and train for their daily commute.
Today the Danish railways love their cyclists. The main challenge is to make sure that the train services are regular and punctual.

Cycle Chic Postcard - Zagreb
Tomislav works at the Danish Embassy and he deftly and elegantly led me around the city when I was there for to give my Bicycle Culture by Design talk and open my Monumental Motion photo exhibition. The bike belonged to his grandfather and was so cool it was painful. Suits the man, though, doesn't it?
A bicycle made for two.
Balkan cool.
A young Zagreb-ian ... uh... Zagrebite... um... Zagreber... uh... citizen of Zagreb out for a spin.
Unfortunately, I found myself in a car at one point. Fortunately, I only spend about 15 hours a year in automobiles.
It's scientifically proven... bicycles make you want to kiss more.
Or just flirt.

Cycle Chic Postcard Berlin
There is a wonderful variety of Cycle Chic motives to explore in Berlin where cycle infrastructure has improved dramatically in recent years. Here a stunt for two.
Signal coloured bike for signal coloured tights - or vice versa.
Elegant match of natural colours.
The pictures are from last month and it was still chilly
Relaxing at the Spree.

Breathtaking in Black & White
My fellow Copenhageners are as Cycle Chic and dashing as ever in this Balck & White retro series. Above: Caught by a chilly afternoon gust.
Below: In thoughts - and in style - at the harbour.
Scandinavian simplicity.
Floating on Copenhagen Night Lights.
Could this be Paris? Monsieur Chic - French inspired.

Posture Postulates
We're suckers for all the posture delights that mainstream bicycle culture offer up. Even though we have determined that, from an anthropological perspective, there are only 10 ways that Copenhageners wait for a red light, there are of course accents and dialects in the chosen posture.
We love the casual feel to these photos. Like the gentleman above. Relaxing and watching his city go by until the light turns green.
A pensive moment, perhaps, for this chap. The bicycle culture version of Rodin's The Thinker?
Sitting up straight and taking a moment to consider things.
The young woman rests her elbow on her knee while waiting at the light, perhaps selecting a new set of tracks on her smartphone.
And then there is The Felix. Hanging all cool and casual on one of the many railings and footrests at red lights around Copenhagen, to let cyclists take a load off whilst they wait.
If cyclists have a bad name about their rogue behaviour where you live, it's simply because they are not provided with well-designed infrastructure. Good design inspires good behaviour.

I'm OK, You're OK!
A tribute thread to the many who wave and greet me as they pass while I'm taking their picture!
Especially young people are often alert and like the attention.
"Peace" - don't see that very often here in Copenhagen. But in Japan the peace sign is almost ubiquitous whenever you take a portrait or group shot.
It happens that people wave for my attention to make sure I get their picture.
I do get the occasional signal or request not to take someone's picture. Fortunately, there's enough happy people to go around.

Stiletto Heels
Stiletto heels are one of the ultimate female accessories and cycling is no reason to give up a striking stride at the office or your favourite dress on a Saturday night.
Personally I'm often as impressed with the girls that walk such fragile heights as with those who bike with them.
A soft pointy landing in Copenhagen's #1 fashion street.
Friday afternoon and ready for the nights pub raid?
A Fleur laced leather boot for a final feminine accent.
