Hi Friend,
This time I will write just a few lines - and let the photos do the talking... yep, it's time to lean back and enjoy a virtual bike ride! Here we go:
First, hit the spacious Copenhagen bike lanes.
Park your bike in Nyhavn - and spot a strolling dove.
Say hi to the dove ;)
Do like Thrift Shop - if they lived in Copenhagen - and head for Nørrebro and the Sunday flea market...
Ready for park life: Park your bike in Ørstedparken.
Enjoy the view.
Lay down flat on the grass and notice the sun caress the leaves. And think: Hey, Life is Good!
Peace & Blog Love,

Summer Games on Dronning Louises Bridge
We're a bit weird in Copenhagen. Some of our favourite spots to hang out include cemetery gardens like Assistans Kirkegaard where famous Danes are laid to bury in paradise. Then there's Dronning Louises Bridge connecting cosmopolitan Nørrebro to the city centre.
Bring some friends and beer, or friends with beer to hang out on the bridge and enjoy eyeing up other Danes as they cycle by. If you're lucky some random guy may turn up with a boombox on wheels...
Watch young people cycle by and better still, guess which Copenhagen district they're probably from. These lot...Nørrebro?
Elegant hair bun up high and sleek sporty look. Hmmm...Østerbro?
On trend with electric blue coursing through this look (even the bike!)...dare I say Frederiksberg?
Okay, okay. It's not a bike...but this guy deserves some credit for being able to skateboard and send SMS's to his mates simultaneously.
Again, getting around on eight wheels instead of two! Best way to 'walk' your dog if he's a bit faster than what you were expecting...
Okay this is turning out to be a terrible game. Damn I give up! But cool glasses bro...where are you heading?
Hmmm...I guess it's back to eye-spy then!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Over and Out!

Caught in the Rain? Pedal faster!
Okay weird August weather: if ya gonna rain, then commit! None of these odd spells where it's full on for five minutes and then dry for another twenty...you're catching out our Copenhageners! I mean what are we meant to wear? Geez...
This Copenhagen Rasta is keeping dry, for now...
Ah! The rains caught one!
Yes, getting wet's no fun...but cheer up, at least your mod-inspired outfit looks great!
Okay, so what if it begins to rain. Wear your favourite outfit and just work the 'wet-hair' look? Hmmm...nah, forget it. Bring that umbrella!

Jackets Out In Mid-August!
Oh dear. The drizzle has come back to Copenhagen and it's not even the end of summer yet! On the plus side, at least we can justify getting those sexy jackets back out!
Soften a creased black leather jacket with a cashmere scarf wrapped round the neck. Very cute!
Bring some edge to an otherwise very neat look. Don't be afraid to wear the suede.
Here's Unnur from Iceland rockin' her look by teaming a geometric printed dress with a clean-cut leather jacket. Nice one.
Hopefully the rest of the summer has more in store for us... otherwise it's time to put away the denim summer jackets and out with the leather and suede!

Middle of August: Copenhageners are back in town
It's still the summer holidays in many countries, but in Copenhagen, children are back to school and inhabitants back to work. We are still looking forward to welcoming hundreds of foreign students who are going to arrive in a few weeks and the city will be ready to start a new university year.
On the bicycle lanes, the atmosphere is back to business, we can see:
Young man drinking coffee before going to work (with socks matching the shirt)
Young lady undoing her ponytail after a day at work
Time to suit up!

Got Stuff To Get Around? Pfff...No Worries!
Got a gig to get to? No worries, swing it on your back and off you go!
Moving house? No worries, just throw in those final bits and bobs into your Christania bike.
Recent trip to Ikea? No worries, hook up a trailer to the back of your bike.
Running a small business? No worries, the bike can carry all your goods and equipment! Think of all the pennies you save on petrol...
Cycling. Still the best way to get your stuff around town! Well in Copenhagen at least...
...And CycleLogistics have just launched their Shop by bike campaign in Copenhagen, one of the twelve European cities that are taking part in an effort to get more Europeans, well, to get their shopping done by bike!
As part of the campaign CycleLogistics are running a photo competition to get Copenhageners to send in pictures of themselves carrying the most impressive load or some of the weirdest items!

Hanging Out In Kongens Have With Karen and Charlotte
Today I was lucky enough to bump into Karen and Charlotte, two medic students living in Copenhagen. When they're not studying (hard) they like to come and chill in the beautiful park, Kongens Have.
Lovin' Karen's cool ladylike look.
Charlotte teams her sparkly black skirt with that gorgeous blue leather jacket.
Girls cycling around the city in the awesome sunshine!
Time for a quick cuddle near Store Kongensgade.
Oi oi, what's going on here? Cheeky grab from Charlotte.
Thank you to the beautiful ladies Karen and Charlotte for taking the time out for a quick pose as well as huge congratulations to Charlotte on her recent engagement! Tillykke!

All Aboard!
Throw your best friends in your Christania bike and ride on!
Copenhagen mums are just too cool for school.
The lucky ones who get to balance on the bicycle back rack whilst their friend does all the hard work! Oh the easy life...
And this is why I love Christania bikes!

Make some noise: Furry sangria for your cool Copenhagen weekend
Copenhagen street view – through the solid glasses of sangria! Worth a visit; step by Spanish tapas bar & restaurant La Valenciana just by Nørreport Station. Also met cool skater guys there chilling with a Carlsberg, before heading for Freetown Christiania.
And hello there… burlesque diva and photographer Rikke lit up all Frederiksborggade with her dotted dress, and well… turning heads with her cute 50′s poses (O;
Back to The Furry Bike Owner who appreciates a nice sushi dinner at Sticks-n-sushi located at Nansensgade…
Just love it: Stand out, make some noise. Ok?

Cycling Without Age
Today I'm going to dedicate the day to a start-up organisation called Cycling Without Age because I think there's nothing cooler than seeing citizens continuing to cycle right through to their senior years. CWA's mission is to extend the cycling life of every senior resident by setting up rickshaw-cycling-tour schemes in nursing homes across Denmark and hopefully abroad too.
It's a pretty simple idea, CWA links each senior resident up with a willing chauffeur from its online platform of volunteers and off they go in their allocated Christania bikes. They can choose to go in small groups or go solo, however, it's up to the passenger to decide which direction to take!
Here's Thorkild and his neighbour on the way to the beach. What better way to enjoy the beautiful weather?
Anyone interested can volunteer and by doing so they can get a bit of exercise whilst putting a smile on someone else's face!
CWA is a great example of health promotion and not just because the volunteers get their fair deal of exercise, it's especially beneficial for the passengers too. Senior residents who usually spend their days indoors are offered a great multi-stimulatory experience just by being exposed to the fresh outdoors and re-engaging in their local communities.
Chilling out by the beach near Charlottelund. CWA's cycling tours are also a great way for senior residents to get out of their homes and meet new people. Volunteers soon transition from being a stranger to someone with a familiar name.
Age really is just a number and shouldn't dictate your social life. CWA's initiative is innovative in that way as it attracts people from a range of ages and all walks of life.
CWA welcomes anyone to cycle along the main tours, particularly senior citizens who are still living independently. Cycling in a group gives them that extra reassurance as well as generally just being a bit more fun!
So who says that cycling should end the day you move into a nursing home? Well, Cycling Without Age certainly doesn't think so.
Over and Out!
