Yeah Boiiiii
Woah. Hold on. Who says that it's just Copenhagen women that own the Cycle Chic posts. I think it's definitely time to give the boyz some credit now. It's only fair!
Colourful long vests and baseball caps. Nice going.
So glad when guys don't turn to straighteners. Curls are awesome! (Definitely was not going to say cute - an adjective most forbidden when describing guys.)
Guys can multi-task! Talking on the phone and posing all at once? Done.
Christania bikes. So you can pick up your girlfriend - (s).
Bit of banter amongst men whilst waiting for the traffic lights to change.
In light of the evidence above I think it's fair to say that Copenhagen guys know what they're doing. If you agree, give them a like!
Over and Out!

Sporty Summer Chic
If you're one of those people who likes the idea of sprawling yourself out in the sun for hours on end but in practice gets bored and restless then you're a bit like me. I'm hopeless. Along with being half-British and half-Danish I'm like a doomed caucasian cocktail aka. tanning does not come easy! But no sweat - there's a way round it. Take up some new sports for the summer and the tanning hours will fly by. Of course, leave it up to the Copenhageners to show us how to keep it Sporty Chic.
Gym buddies.
Crisp white t-shirt and bright coloured shorts keep it summer cool.
Why stick to conventional gym gear? Go all out with t-shirt prints.
Here's Jonas and Maria setting off to cycle round the city. Great pair of sneakers Jonas!
For the active urbanists, which sports are you guys taking up this summer?
Over and Out!

July: Summer mood
From the beginning of July, Copenhagen is no longer a city. It has turned into a beach and the inhabitants take advantage of the water which runs through the city.
Cyclists are tan. They are wearing swimsuits, summer dresses and look nice.
Tank top matching the bike
Heading for Islands Brygge - "urban beach" of Copenhagen

Adjusting Hugh & Saturation
I rode out to the airport in Copenhagen (which is no big deal) this morning, to meet this fine British chap, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. He was arriving from the UK to film a tv show about Copenhagen and Denmark and we thought it rather appropriate if we adjusted him immediately to Copenhagen life and saturated him in our bicycle-frienly city from the word go.
We chucked his bag in my Bullitt and he hopped onto a Velorbis and we cycled into the city centre - past Christiansborg (which the whole planet seems to know as Borgen, thanks to the television series), where I took this shot. I filled him in on all the aspects of a mainstream bicycle culture (which really is a non-culture), planning liveable cities with the bicycle as the most powerful tool for change, as well as the finer points of Cycle Chic.
We rolled casually through the city, hardly breaking sweat as we pedalled and chatted and I delivered him to his hotel.
It was almost orchestrated when we were leaving the airport and we saw this Copenhagen family arriving with their bags on bicycles, ready to head off on a summer holiday.
For Hugh, it was the perfect arrival in this fine city. Easing him into the city from the airport, down the cycle tracks that gradually grew more and more busy with bicycles as we got closer to the medival city centre. And all on a gloriously sunny day.
Welcome to Copenhagen, Hugh!
Spot On Copenhagen!
Each time I see polka dots the song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini" suddenly blasts in my head - much to my annoyance. Recently walking round Copenhagen I seem to spot it everywhere! (Apologies for the terrible pun...)
However, I must say from seeing how the Copenhageners work it into their summer look perhaps it's time for a dose of polkadot myself!
Keeping it cute and simple.
Polkadot jumpsuit and leather bag makes a neat look.
Polkadots are known to be a "hit or miss" print. Team the boldness of a polkadot garment with simple accessories to make it a hit.

Do Danes Make Good Friends?
Just like the rest of Europe the sun is strong in Copenhagen and everyone seems to be back from their holidays!
First thing to do? Catchup with friends.
What makes a good friend? Someone who's there to get you places when you just can't seem to get there yourself.
Stylish mini-ambulance.
"Pick it up, woman...got places to be!"
Just a shout out to all my Copenhagen friends - you guys are rockin' my summer!
Over and out!

Hot Cycle Chick heading for...
I just love to make people smile! Crack a (bad) joke and spend some Copenhagen Good Times when interviewing the Copenhageners on the street.
This sweet girl works at Abercrombie and Fitch in Copenhagen. The store opened in Denmark not long time ago – and I clearly remember their stunning PR opening campaign, with shirtless goodlooking male models on Købmagergade, handing out fliers and make all the girls visit their new store (O:
So... where in Copenhagen would Anja recommend you to go this weekend? Find out on www.cphblonde.com ;)

July: never ride without my sunglasses
The sun shines in Copenhagen. It's the right moment to review which kinds of sunglasses are trendy this year. Vintage or brand-new, the round metal frame sunglasses are worn with elegance as shown above.
Oversize black sunglasses do not seem to be trendy anymore. Cyclists have replaced them with colorful ones.
Classic! Matching the clothes style.
And of course the Aviator sunglasses are perennially fashionable!

Colour Splash
Nosey into any Copenhageners' wardrobe and you should find their favourite key pieces in black, grey or white. However, these lot show us that by adding a splash of colour you can keep any outfit far from being dull.
Revive an otherwise plain outfit by adding a psychedelic vintage bomber jacket.
Make a bold yet simple statement by teaming a classic LBD with a jacket in a loud colour. Splash out a bit!
Over and out!

The Cycle Chic Republic - and a Webshop!
From left: Mary (Copenhagen Cycle Chic), Gaze (Berlin Cycle Chic), Annabel (Vienna Cycle Chic), Joni and Philip (Amsterdam Cycle Chic), Aron (Hungarian Cycle Chic), Dora (Vitória Cycle Chic) and Mikael (Copenhagen Cycle Chic). Photographed in Budapest on the occasion of the 2nd Annual Cycle Chic Conference.
It's no secret that Cycle Chic has gone from strength to strength since November 14, 2006. According to our records over 200 Cycle Chic blogs have appeared on the internet in cities on every continent. Many of them ended up inactive but a core of passionate people remain and a couple of years ago we formed The Cycle Chic Republic.
Cycle Chic may have started with one person but it quickly became a community. That community has strengthened over the years and become a group of good friends, with more people joining as we go along.
In 2011 we held the first Cycle Chic Conference in Barcelona, with Cycle Chic representatives from Bordeaux, Graz, Paris, Lisbon, Vancouver, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Sydney, Amsterdam, Budapest, Montreal, Rio de Janeiro.
In 2012, we repeated the success in Budapest. This is where we took the group photo, above. Tongue in cheek, of course. We thought it fun and relevant to highlight the fact that we are far from the old school, granola-crunchy bicycle advocacy in "certain" parts of the world who - for reasons beyond us - think that Cycle Chic is somehow haute couture. Those of you who have been following the blog(s) know that it's just opening your closet and wearing whatever you'd wear as a pedestrian or a bus passenger. Style (your style) over Speed.
This year, at the Velo-City 2013 bicycle conference in Vienna, a group of cycle chic bloggers were in attendance and, no surprise, we hung out. Cycle Chicsters from Gdansk, Copenhagen, Budapest, Vienna, Belgium.
It's brilliant to have a such global network representing Cycle Chic and even more brilliant that we continue to have such fun and love each other even more.
The newest development is that we have finally bowed to the pressure and opened up a global webshop. For many years people have been emailing us and asking about the accessories they see in our photographs. We decided to start The Official Cycle Chic Republic Webshop.
We ship out of our warehouse in Amsterdam to any postbox around the world. We're thrilled that it's been a success from the start and we will continue to expand the selection of goods as we go.
So, Cycle Chic continues to expand and grow and it doesn't look like we're going anywhere anytime soon. We're having too much fun.
Mostly because while we share the same passion, we remember not to take ourselves too seriously.

Copenhagen pancakes and spa: Time to spoil yourself
Well, hello there, Copenhagen sunshine chicas! Line and Sara are pimping & painting the furniture of cafe Kalaset located in Vendersgade, just by Nørreport Station.
The must-have of Kalaset is their American inspired pancakes.
The girls tell me if you have them once, you can’t help coming back for more…
YUMMIE.
And why not continue spoiling yourself? Just a 5 minute walk from Kalaset you find Helle Thorup Spa in Gothersgade. The rest of this month (July 2013) they offer you a 20% discount on their Murad C-Vitamine Facial Treatment, which means a nice price of DKK 636, when you just say I love Cycle Chic & CPH BLONDE
Lasting for 70 lovely minutes, including a luxury sample. Here I am after the treatment defying sun damage, totally relaxed and with happy skin. No makeup, but What The Heck, altogether Cycle Chic and I only have about 30.000 readers sooo… (O;
Oh, also have to tell you what I bumped into when in Verona, Italy, just a week ago:
Say what, Mikael?!
Cycle Chic photos covering 6 full pages in Italian trend magazine Cocun. Love the red shoes.
Oh, hot guys!
Enjoy your weekend, see you next Friday right here on Cycle Chic!
Peace & Blog Love,

Summer Blooming
This young Copenhagener keeps it cute and casual teaming her floral dress with a grey cardigan and pink sneakers.
Balance out a bold floral print skirt by choosing a loose cream top as seen here. Add the vintage leather brown purse and sunglasses to keep it city chic.
Even the bike plays a part in this look which uses a palette of creams and browns whilst the addition of a floral skirt breaks it up. Very cute!
All-over floral dresses risk looking out-of-date but this maxi dress with all its acid tones shows us how it should be done. By far my favourite maxi!
Over and out!

Mid-July: office employees become scarce but they are still chic
Roskilde festival is over, the sun is back and bright colors with it.
This lady is wearing red from head to toe, or from her earrings to her shoes.
Need to spice up a red suit? Attach a Yves Saint Laurent pink flower on it. ;-)
