Beauty and the Bike

This brilliant documentary called Beauty and the Bike wanted to answer one simple question: "Why do British girls stop cycling?"

The film follows two groups of girls, one in Darlington, UK and the other in Bremen, Germany, looking for the answer and the solution to the problem.

Above is an 8 minute version of the film. What an inspiration.

Red & Purple

Since Mikaels flu has been coordinated with me getting a fabulous new lens (plus nice weather) I might as well post a few more shots from the last days "new gear excitement".

Apart from the impeccable colour matching, noteworthy is the stylish way of keeping the hands from the freezing winter air. At this time it is a bit overkill, but soon, I fear, they will be highly apropriate.

Citizens

I love this town. What I don't like is having 39+ degree fever for five days in a row. My two kids have been hit with influenza, too, so we've been pathetic together in the sofa for days. Wifealiciousness, fortunately, got off lightly with a cold. So that's why the posting has been sparse of late. Although Lars has carried the enormous weight of the Cycle Chic legacy on his sturdy shoulders quite effortlessly with his recent photographic brilliance.

I should be back on the cycle tracks at full speed [a relaxing 12 km/h, of course], in a couple of days.

Sun at Last

As Mikael noticed the other day, the hours of sun so far for november could be counted on one hand. So when we finally got a full day of sun here yesterday, I just could not stay inside although I really should have been working. I am sure I was not the only one enjoying some light.

All styles were on display from the perfectly matched to...

...the not quite so minimalist.

Cycle Chic Calendar 2010

So it's that time of year again. Time for the Cycle Chic Calendar 2010. 12 months of Copenhagen right there on your wall. Oh, and I called it a Limited Edition because it only helps you keep track of dates for 12 months from Janauary 2009 to Decemeber 2009. Which, considering the fact that it's been 14 billion years since the Big Bang, is a rather limited amount of time.

Treat yourself, buy it as a Christmas present for someone you fancy or just shrug and not bother and keep visiting the blog each day. Whatever works for you.

Going Home

I have to say I am enjoying the night shooting too. The absence of sun makes daylight quite dull in comparison to the partly illuminated night. Or more correctly: The dark part of the day (sun down at 15:55).

Hallucinations

So here's me gone down with influenza.

This is what the world looks like through the hallucinegenic flu blur.

My favourite way of riding with my daughter, as communication and intimacy is really good. Most women use a child seat on the back though, due to the lack of the horizontal bar (in the bike frame). But as you can see, a mens frame is in use here.
