Sydney Cycle Chic
Here's a little splash of Cycle Chic from Down Under.
Sydney Cycle Chic, indeed. Nice. Thanks to Candycranks.
You may recall the story about Sue, the cyclist in New South Wales who is fighting a ticket for cycling without a helmet. She's getting ready for court and defending herself on the grounds of 'necessity'. You can see a little film about it here. Go Sue!

Blue Beret
Sometimes all it takes is a blue beret to make your day.
And slowly but surely we are moving into the transitional period between heels/flip flops/ballet shoes to the boots of winter.

Dapper in New York
Renaud Dutreil, the chairman of the North American unit of the luxury and fashion conglomerate LVMH, on his bicycle in New York, as he does every day.
Read the article Whose Bike Are You Wearing? on the New York Times website, from whence the photo originates.
Renaud is a fine example of how we are slowly but surely giving the bicycle back it's status.

The State of Washington
Our friend and photographer Derek from Washington State has a couple of new photos to share. Cycle Chic perfection, as always.
Derek has been nominated as the best wedding photographer in his region, and you can cast your vote in his favour over at this website.

Shoes
It can be a challenge for a man to grasp why buying *another* pair of shoes can be such a nescessity for a woman, who easily has a closet full of footwear.
However I must admit, that I do admire a well chosen pair. They seem to have the potential power of turning a great outfit into an extraordinary one.
Imminent Longshadow Days
I don't wish to see the end of summer. Yes, I'm living in the wrong country. However there are a number of aesthetic elements to the autumn, if you choose to see them. The impossibly long Nordic shadows, for one. Dreamlike extensions of ourselves. Whether they tag along behind or they lead the way.
They're not here quite yet. We'll have to wait a month or so for their arrival.

150%
I can´t help posting this shot as a follow-up on Mikaels "Totally Copenhagen" post of yesterday. It sort of completes the coverage :-)
Summer's Last Stand
Make no mistake. Summer lingers on, embracing with gentle warm breezes. But make no mistake... autumn waits in the wings. But it ain't over til the cycle lady sings. We're enjoying it while we can.

Cycle Parade
I rode in a little cycle parade last week in association with a C02 neutral festival here in Copenhagen. Here's two of the other cyclists. You can read more about the parade and the festival over at Copenhagenize.com.
Totally Copenhagen and then some
I've seen this bicycle around town before but only recently had the chance to photograph it.
It is 150% Copenhagen. The century-old tradition of adorning the basket with flowers is, here, taken to a splendid extreme. The gold paint job adds a personalised touch.
I love this detail on the back fender. It's a bicycle fit for our golden cycling girl who has surveyed her two-wheeled kingdom from her perch on the City Hall Square since the 1930's:

Late Summer Balmy Backlight
These late summer balmy days are intoxicating and flirtacious in their un-Nordicness. The summer lingers on and Copenhageners aren't complaining. On the Cycle Chic calender for 2009 the text for September reads:
September is a lottery, although with good odds for warm days as we gently glide towards autumn. It is relaxing and while we resigned to the inevitable fact that the seasons will change, we enjoy the tail end of summer while we can.
Indeed.
