Sunday Outing

Mobiky Moods
Sunday outing to Dyrehaven - The Deer Park. Flock of deer in the background. Wifealiciousness in the foreground on the Mobiky Genius. It's a wicked ride.

Dyrehaven is a 11 km2 park just north of of Copenhagen. Copenhageners have been coming on Sunday outings here for over 400 years. The world's oldest amusement park, Bakken - founded in 1583, is located at the southern edge, but otherwise the park is long pathways through woodland and meadows.
Mobiky Moods
The Mobiky is perfect for taking on the train. Fold it up and off you go.
CycleSunday
Dyrehaven provides room for every kind of activity.
Intersectsational
Meanwhile, back in the city, Copenhageners continue doing what they do best.

Leather and Tights

Grace 'n' ease. No grease.

The King's New Square etc

Square
A fragment in time on The King's New Square in Copenhagen.
Couple
Whenever I see couples riding together in Copenhagen, I think of this quote:
"Love is not looking at each other, but looking together in the same direction" Saint Exupery.
The King's New Square
Another simple bicycle moment on the King's New Square.

Sunny Sunday

Today SUNday lived up to it's name. My flatmate and I were hanging out at our local corner shop. There was a constant coming and going of sun-craving Copenhageners taking a stroll, buying pizza or just hanging out.

We appreciate the fact that until the flowers begin to blossom, Copenhagen's cool chicas provide all the vivid colours we can dream of.

Notice the casually attached red hand bag on the back of the bike.

Stripes high and low.

The Copenhagenesses were accompagnied by their offspring and better halves. Also chic 'n' cycling.

Chic Visibility

Red seems to be the new black this season in Copenhagen. Apart from being fashionable, flashy redness gives you good attention from motorists too.

Copenhagen Lørdag [Saturday]

Quintessential Copenhagen
A Copenhagen cyclist crossing the bridge in Nyhavn, the old pictoresque canal on the harbour. Doesn't get much more Copenhagen than this.

Sunshine
Spring is here. Repeat after me. Spring is here.

Ease
Making it look so easy.

Baskets We Like

The basket to the left is attatched to the handlebars with chic laces bearing the distinctive logo of Nørgaard paa Strøget - a classic Danish fashion brand where you always get your presents wrapped up with this lace.

The basket to the right is from Design House Stockholm and is called 'Carrie'. According to their web site, "the designer Marie-Louise Gustafsson selected ornate material as it reminded her of the Swedish crochet tablecloths on which her grandmother used to serve afternoon tea".

Copenhagen Dreaming

Here's today's humble offerings from the bike culture of Copenhagen.
Median
Balancing act on the median in classic Copenhagen cycling wear.

Cyclisme
Reducing urban cycling to dreamlike forms and moods on the City Hall Square.

Commuting
We're trying to jinx winter by posting this shot from a couple of months back. Springtime is here and let's move on. No more snow. Please. It's time for bare legs and skirts.

Mobiky Wifey
Wifealiciousness and I were trying out the new Mobiky Genius in the backyard. A cool folding bike that rides like a dream. It also is an interesting addition to our interior design concept:
Bicycles As Interior Design Objects

Here's wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Welcome to Copenhagen

Accelerate
Another Great Moment in Cycling. It's that moment we love so much here on Cycle Chic. Green light. Muscles tense. Bicycle propelled forward. Momentum achieved. Continue on.
And look frightfully fashionable while doing so. Ah, Copenhagen.

Any ideas for what this magical moment could be called? The initial thrust off the light? We've discussed it here at the blog, but couldn't come up with a fine, good name for it.

Anyway, here's today's photographic offerings from the bike lanes of Copenhagen:
Musical Ride
Musical ride. Copenhagen cellos prefer being transported by bike. We've asked them. 9 out of 10 confirmed it.
Red Bag Red Coat
Red Bag, Red Coat. Both heading home on the bike lanes.
Daily Copenhagen Supermum
Yet another Copenhagen supermum. Superstylish. Supercool. Super mum.

And with Flickr's new video function, we offer you this. The Art of Waiting For The Light To Change in Copenhagen:

Copenhagen Cycle Chic online boutique is now open

Spring is Springing

Overtaken
Me and the boy wonder were off to buy him some new shoes when we were overtaken with a smile by two other Copenhageners.
Ease of Use
Ease of use is the key to any bike culture.

Friends and Ice Cream
Springtime sensations. Laughing girlfriends eating an ice lolly.

City Centre Chic

It's as if time has frozen and she doesn't even spin forward anymore. A sculpture of Copenhagen Chic. She might even still be there at Nytorv. Motionless and timeless.

Grabbing for something in her basket.

Two generations of stripy hats.

And a few chic chicos to round off:

The Yellow Bikes of Spring

Yellowbike One
Now that is style. And of course I mean the back tyre of my Velorbis Scrap Deluxe on the left.

Red and Yellow Encore un fois
One last dash of yellow bike in the afternoon light.

Marie and I were sitting outside at a café nearby here and watching the bikeworld go by.

A fellow (mobile) snapper

There's no better way for a photographer to navigate the city. Ride around, see something interesting, snap, and ride on.
