Lighten Up (Let the Sun Shine Through)
Keep those lazy eyes open! For when the sun bursts like fire in the middle of a crowd. Or let's us admire a solitary curly top.
And nature's light frames a picture perfect.

08:39:29 Sunrise.
Today is the latest sunrise during the year in Denmark. 08:39:29 to be exact. That is if the sun pops up. However, when it occasionally obliges the sun immerses the entire city in a soft golden light that transforms your mundane morning commute into a splendid spectacle.
Golden hour always makes me happy. What about you?
The golden spell seems to last forever here @11:30.
Enjoy cutting the sun's rays with your friends!

The Simple Things in Life
"Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride" / John F. Kennedy
And it is true. Either you are going to work, school, party or some other destination, bike is the best choice for the transportation. It will give a little work out feeling to your body, it will make you smile, it will lead you in meeting new people while waiting for the green light, it will let you feel your city and more... Put that sunnies on and get on a road!!!

Sun is Out - Sun Glasses are On!
Finally, the Spring sun is out. Sun starved Copenhageners will use any excuse to lighten their wardrobe and run their sunglasses. So here goes. Above: Spring never looked better. Below: Finally an excuse to flag those tattoos.
Welcoming the warm breeze.
Layered and buttoned up for sun set.
Coolest Cat in Copenhagen?!? Your call.

One Evening at Saint George's Lake
Copenhagen weather was at its best this week. Here some shots with amazing backlight as the sun sets into Saint George's Lake (Sankt Jørgen's Sø) with cyclists and pedestrians passing by. Above: The last rays of red. Below: Ultimate Evening Elegance.
Strolling in the Sun.

Wind Chill Factor -10°
A fierce cold wind carried a welcome drop of sunshine to Copenhagen this weekend. Some cyclists seemed to be caught off guard by the excessive chill factor. Above: Suffering in style (!) Below: Gotta zip that zipper to avoid the cold.
Many couples out for a lazy Sunday ride before work picks up tomorrow.
Committed to color!
Enjoying the last minutes of the dying sun before heading home.

Hanging Out In Kongens Have With Karen and Charlotte
Today I was lucky enough to bump into Karen and Charlotte, two medic students living in Copenhagen. When they're not studying (hard) they like to come and chill in the beautiful park, Kongens Have.
Lovin' Karen's cool ladylike look.
Charlotte teams her sparkly black skirt with that gorgeous blue leather jacket.
Girls cycling around the city in the awesome sunshine!
Time for a quick cuddle near Store Kongensgade.
Oi oi, what's going on here? Cheeky grab from Charlotte.
Thank you to the beautiful ladies Karen and Charlotte for taking the time out for a quick pose as well as huge congratulations to Charlotte on her recent engagement! Tillykke!
Over and Out!

Copenhagen Summertime
Some of you may have noticed that Mikael hasn't been the one posting the last few blog entries. Because the lucky dog is on holiday in Croatia. So, while he's gone, we're taking advantage of Copenhagen's own little seaside escape.
The beach is close, but not central to the city, so bicycles (and the metro) are the most popular way to get there.
Beachside bars with signs that read 'open when the sun is shining', vendors selling fresh green peas and ripe cherries, and gently rotating wind mills create a pretty warm landscape to complement the city's otherwise Nordic Cool attitude. Not bad Copenhagen, not bad at all.

Meanwhile Back In CPH
This morning on my way to work, I thought I should go catch a bit of that wonderful spring vibe I was picking up. And yes, sunglasses were aired, scarves were loose or absent and gone were the oversized fur hats.
And I think some were celebrating the coming of spring with abundantly red lips.
Goodbye snow. (You wore out your welcome, didn´t you?)
EDIT:
I thought the was something familar about the first shot, and yes, check out the second shot of this post.
If there was a CopenhagenCycleChic award, I would say we clearly have a nominee.

Sun at Last
As Mikael noticed the other day, the hours of sun so far for november could be counted on one hand. So when we finally got a full day of sun here yesterday, I just could not stay inside although I really should have been working. I am sure I was not the only one enjoying some light.
All styles were on display from the perfectly matched to...
...the not quite so minimalist.

Gone Already...
It feels like ages ago, but my calendar tells me that september is only two months away.
We tend to curse this rapid change of season, but perhaps there is something deep inside us, that knows that this is how it should be. I don´t know.

A Few Random Scenes
We love sunglasses in Copenhagen. They even make dull grey days look better(?).
I have discovered that some people have a fetish for the classic driving gloves. I must admit that I do find there is something inexplicably nice about them. (I wear mine too, hehe).
Most danes will probably recognize her, but what grabbed my attention was definitely the backlit fiery hair on the calm backdrop of our National Museum.
