Life-sized Lego Cycle Chic

Life-sized (well, kind of) LEGO cycle chic at the LEGO flagship store in Copenhagen, as spotted by Sandra at the Classic Copenhagen blog. Love it!

Totally Copenhagen and then some

I've seen this bicycle around town before but only recently had the chance to photograph it.

It is 150% Copenhagen. The century-old tradition of adorning the basket with flowers is, here, taken to a splendid extreme. The gold paint job adds a personalised touch.

I love this detail on the back fender. It's a bicycle fit for our golden cycling girl who has surveyed her two-wheeled kingdom from her perch on the City Hall Square since the 1930's:

Cycle Chic Stamp

There's little doubt that we take the Cycling Girl seriously as a Danish icon. Here's a Danish stamp from 1975 celebrating the launch of the United Nations' Decade for Women. 1975 was also the International Woman's Year. See... it's not just us.
