Own That Scarf
Yes, scarf in Copenhagen is a MUST HAVE piece. It is pretty windy here. There are no vertical mountains, but there are plenty of horizontal ones. Here is a post about ladies, riding their bicycles while keeping their scarf game strong.
Hide in your scarf, when the wind is against you.
Deep blue. As a protector, as an accessory. Scarf is your everything these days.
Keep your neck warm and match it with your gloves! Why not?
Bring the colours in the house.
Or keep it all black.
The bigger, the better!!!
Happy cycling and don't forget your scarf!

Blue Mystery
In this city, "street style" cannot mean the same as it does in other cities around the world. Street style in Copenhagen includes a bicycle, no matter what. That is what makes our job in Cycle Chic really exciting. Any and every style and personality is embraced riding a bicycle. Bicycles are a major asset in the overall composition of your everyday style.
This Copenhagen street moment captured through our lens is about a mysterious man in blue. He must have decided to have elegance and simplicity as priorities in his composition. He matched his bicycle with his scarf and the rest was left for black to take over. Black beanie, black, puffy jacket, black gloves... Two accents in his composition made him stand out from the classic Copenhagen Black. He rode past us on his triangle, vintage bicycle and smiled.
Happy cycling!

Double Dealing Days, Part II
No matter where you are going to and what you are doing. The streets of Copenhagen with cycling lines wide enough to fit two cyclists cycling together side by side gives you a possibility to share these beautiful everyday moments with your friends.
It is pretty ordinary in Copenhagen to see couples cycling from A-to-B. It is cheaper, faster, better and lets be honest - later you can use the money for a nice, romantic dinner together.
It starts with couples and continues with families...
Take your friend and share the ride !!!

Last Impression Given on a Bicycle
As she put herself together, getting ready to cruise off on her bicycle, she felt the urge to give away a subtle goodbye.
Her bicycle became an extension of her legs, while the rest of her held tight to the moment.
Seconds before her exit, she knew with her bicycle she couldn't be shy.
Her last impression was made and could not be stolen.

Part II: You'll See Her On a Bicycle and She'll Be Wearing a Scarf...
Part II of this scarf series takes place in Aarhus, Denmark's third best cycling city. Notice the bundle of fabric and color working it's cozy magic as these women travel along this small, urban city. Scarves and bicycles work hand in hand for comfort and warmth as the air gets colder and traveling is still a necessity.

"You'll See Her On a Bicycle and She'll Be Wearing a Scarf..."
Form and function, is that all there is to wearing a scarf? Or can scarves stand for more?
The hairy scarf, a stand out peace in your wardrobe. Warm and refreshing!
But we know that sometimes it is more important to be warm, that's it.
This lady obviously feels super confident. We believe it is the scarf effect.
A scarf can be form of hiding, of isolating.
You can match it with the season.
But in the end, it is about keeping you cozy.
...and looking good while doing so.
There is no excuse. Even though it is starting to get cold, cycling in style is always a good idea. Cycle Chic shows us the chance of dressing up for your destination without the bicycle holding you back. See you in the streets and possibly on the blog!

Break Out The Gloves
As we ease into winter through the transition of autumn here in Copenhagen, we're in the midst of another transitional in mainstream bicycle culture. We love to see all the lovely hats and scarves and gloves come out.
Gloves are one thing that always trigger a one or two week period where we start to realise that it may be time to break them out. We all know it well here. You head off one morning and realise it's damn chilly but your gloves are packed away somewhere in your home. You make a mental note to yourself to dig them out. You forget. Next chilly day, another mental note.
Eventually, you find them and put them by the door. Then you forget to take them when you leave. You finally remember to take them with you, and put them on. In the afternoon, however, heading home or onwards into the evening, they're in your bag or your pockets. Then the chill catches you unawares once again. You'll ride along, fishing them out of your pocket or dig them out at a red light, like the photo above, and put them. Unless of course you just think... "I don't have far to go... I'll suck it up."
After this seasonal transitional phase (the exact opposite is true in the spring), your gloves become second nature. They're rarely forgotten and keep your fingers warm until the spring launches its Occupy Winter rallies in March and April.
We felt like showing a little series of red gloves from Copenhagen but whatever the colour or fabric or style, the bike lanes of Copenhagen will soon be coloured with them.

Cycle Chic Turns Seven
Seven years ago today, this blog we call Copenhagen Cycle Chic was born. While the Photo That Launched a Million Bicycles was taken, as you probably know, on November 14, 2006, the blog started in June the year after. It's been a wild and glorious ride and we love every minute of it. The testimonials we've recieved through the years are treasures to us, as are all the people we continue to meet around the world who thank us for this blog and the inspiration. Inspiration is, however, a two-way street and we are constantly inspired by the people we meet and photograph.
For no particular reason, here are some recent photos from Luxembourg to celebrate our birthday.
