Cycling to the Vineyard in Portugal

A lovely guest photo from Portugal today. Milton sent in a photo he titled, "Mum and son at the vineyard", from a trip out the vines to check the ripeness of their grapes.

Milton writes:
"Although biking is mainly an urban phenomenon, it can exist and flourish in small villages, too. The bike is our means of transportation on our local trips, which includes trips to my hobby, the vineyard, near Aveiro, Portugal."

It's harvest time for Milton and his family. Follow his wine journey on his blog. Gets me all sentimental for the autumns I've spent picking grapes in France...

Another stellar shot from Lucy in Australia. Lucy sells restored vintage bikes on Ebay and this is one of her happy customers in Gold Coast. I love this shot, not least because I lived there for six months back in the day and have surfed that very break in the background. Ah, memories.

Guest Photos: From Portugal

Our good friend Ricardo has sent us this guest photo from the streets of Lisbon and we thank him for this lovely insight into the life of the Portugese capital. As we can see it is important to keep a careful eye on the traffic lights.

Ricardo is the author of Bicicleta na Cidade - or Bicycle in the City - a great blog about Lisbon's rising bike culture. It's in Portugese, of course, but it is an important spoke on the wheel of increased bike awareness in Europe. We love the trams of Lisbon but we love the bikes even more.
