New Year's Eve in Copenhagen with Bicycles
New Year's Eve in Copenhagen. 2015 became 2016. We headed out in the late afternoon to some friends. There is a veritable rush hour in Copenhagen from about 16:30 to 18:00. Traditionally, you get to where you're going by 18:00 to hear the Queen speak on television, with a little glass of wine or champagne. The bicycle traffic falls dramatically after 18:00. Parties are getting started all across the city.
There was drizzle when we left, which meant an umbrella was needed.
Unfortunately, the umbrella didn't work so... an alternative style was required.
The Biomega cargo bike was loaded with food and loads of wine for the evening ahead.
The cycle tracks were filled with revellers heading off to their parties.
Later... much later... it was time to head home. We saw this group of friends parting ways at an intersection. Saying thanks for a great night to each other.
We rolled through the city, which was still bustling with life even at three in the morning.
These three girls asked for directions to their next party.
They spotted their destination after some discussion and off they went as we headed home.

Happy New Year
I took this photo on New Year's Eve a couple of years ago. It was 18:17 in Copenhagen. Temperature: 1 degree. The streets and bike lanes were busy with people heading to parties and get togethers. Bicycles everywhere.
An expectant mood. So expectant that one doesn't give riding in a skirt and heels in that temperature a second thought. It's what you do.
A very Happy New Year to all of you!

Cycle Chic New Year's?
Help me out. I'm trying to figure out where to spend New Year's Eve.
Addendum:
I've close the poll! Thanks so much for voting. It ended up looking like this after 409 votes:
San Francisco - 134 - 32.76%
New York City - 115 - 28.12%
Montreal - 112 - 27.38%
Toronto - 48 - 11.74%
I've now made my decision - which was tough. It was also based on flight prices and invitations in my email inbox and stuff like that...
The winner is... Montreal! I booked my tickets today.

New Year's Eve in Copenhagen
I took this photo on New Year's Eve last year.
I'm off to a summer house in Sweden for New Years together with a slough of friends and rugrats. See you in 2009 and have a lovely New Years.
And it's still not too late to snatch a Cycle Chic Calendar, now is it?
