...And CycleLogistics have just launched their Shop by bike campaign in Copenhagen, one of the twelve European cities that are taking part in an effort to get more Europeans, well, to get their shopping done by bike!

As part of the campaign CycleLogistics are running a photo competition to get Copenhageners to send in pictures of themselves carrying the most impressive load or some of the weirdest items!

Winter's Last Stand - Hopefully

If you follow me over at Instagram you may have seen these shots. This year, winter is hanging around like that last irritating guest at a party. Winter is lovely. We just think it should know when to leave. It has overstayed its welcome here in Copenhagen.

Spring, it seems, has a problem getting here. The trees and flowers have yet to bloom - and we're in April! It's getting to be too much. So let's send Winter a signal. Thanks for coming, now get off our lawn. Here are some photos from Winter's Last Stand.

The Lulu stills loves the ride, but the girl is itching for spring, too.

Until it comes, we'll have to fabricate it ourselves.

It might rain today. When the weather forecast changes as frequently as it does in Copenhagen, we find the most reliable source to be people on the street. Citizen cyclists' shoe choices are the main article I check before leaving the house.

A classic stance for those who can't be bothered hopping off the saddle or those who prefer leaning to the left and therefore cannot enjoy the comfort of the raised curb.

With laptops, book bags, cellos and no curb it's also one of the easiest. Graceful and practical.

Winter Moments

The chill remains. We are ready for spring but winter isn't quite finished with us yet.

The Oasis of Daily Life

So there's this little kebab place where I occasionally grab a falafel durum with heaps of chili. It's called The Oasis of Daily Life [Dagliglivets Oase] and it's placed right on a corner with glass windows on three sides.

I can either watch the chap prepare my food or look out the window at my fellow citizens rolling past on their bicycles. I usually choose the latter.

Tucson Bike Beautiful

Some people just get what our Cycle Chic thang is all about. It's time to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to see what the Bike Beautiful gang is getting up to. What a fantastic little film about their bike ride. R. Neil Weismiller, the man behind the dusty, desert bicycle beauty sent us the film and was gushing about the wonderful day that was had by all.

Mexico Cycle Chic - Photo Contest Winners!

So there you have it. We have finally wrapped up the super-thrilling Mexico Cycle Chic Photo Competition. There was a flurry of uploads to our Flickr group in the final stages and a buzz of activity in the Mexican blog world.

Launched by the Royal Danish Embassy in Mexico City, the Cycle Chic photo competition was in collaboration with Cycle Chic (me), Danish bikemaker Biomega and the Institute for Transportion & Development Policy [ITDP].

There were three judges - me, Sussi from Biomega and Bernardo from ITDP. [See Sussi Cycle Chic right here...:-) ]

I can tell you it was a tough job picking winners in the two categories - Gentleman and Lady. Two Biomega bikes were up for grabs - the Biomega Boston.

WINNERS:

Both of the winners hail from Guadalajara, Mexico. Congratulations to both photographers! The Danish Embassy will contact them and work out how they get their new Biomega bikes.
