Shooting The Shooter
I was passing my favorite bridge on a sunday walk on the ice covered lakes. This young woman pulled over not far from me and started fumbling with something she dragged from her briefcase. It turned out to be an old Canon rangefinder, which, I found out, recently had been given to her.
Anyway, whether it is for love of film or for just being incredibly hip, it warms my heart to see a young person shooting film. At very least it helps keeping the film manufacturers in business.
Oops, I got caried away here. In the context of this blog I should of course be dwelling on her impeccably stylish black outfit, complete with classic driving gloves and ol´skool black leather briefcase.
On a bike.
In the snow.
And now over to some absolutely shameless selfpromotion: My *tada!* brand new photography blog.

Tuesday Evening
The snow was not so bad, but those facing the wind really had to put those eyelashes to work. Unless equipped with a suitable hat.
Oh, and hello all btw. I have not been shooting bicycles for a long time, and I don´t see that changing. I do however have a weak spot for snowy streets, so perhaps...

Grainy Bikes
Perhaps a few avid readers have noticed my absence in this corner of da web. I have been abducted by analogue cameras and other shooting styles have been the order of the day. Here is one grainy shot that might qualify for this blog though.

Meanwhile Back In CPH
This morning on my way to work, I thought I should go catch a bit of that wonderful spring vibe I was picking up. And yes, sunglasses were aired, scarves were loose or absent and gone were the oversized fur hats.
And I think some were celebrating the coming of spring with abundantly red lips.
Goodbye snow. (You wore out your welcome, didn´t you?)
EDIT:
I thought the was something familar about the first shot, and yes, check out the second shot of this post.
If there was a CopenhagenCycleChic award, I would say we clearly have a nominee.

Grey Coat
What can I say except she was going damn fast. So I do understand her eyes needed that extra protection against hostile snowflakes.

Cold Fact
January 2010 has strolled by, and fact is that it has been the coldest month here in 23 years.
Not a bit less chic though.

The Native Way
I have a writers block about this one. So here is the shot, - now you tell me what I should have said. Or don´t.

Red Halo
Backlit by the red traffic light, this lady passes by the exact spot where Mikael opens the excellent little film featured in the previous post.

Well On The Way To...
;-) (Couldn´t help throwing in another mood (another planet?)).
Anyway, I would like to thank all you CycleChic persons who have commented on my shots since I started posting more than a year ago. The encouragement has been great.
I just had a special christmas gift: I had a photo published on the quite prestigious photo art site 1x.com (a.k.a. OnExposure). So this is also my present to You:
( See her at 1x.com )
I hope you forgive the subliminal bike content: She is indeed walking her bicycle!
Merry Christmas!

Snowflakealicious
Ooh, I just made up a "Mikaelism" ;-)
Anyway, I like the way that these ladies are keeping spririts high in conditions that could be viewed as demanding. I am likely to say that it is a feature of scandinavians. I know that in many sports, we tend to have an advantage in really bad weather. Perhaps because our normal weather is the other guys terrible weather, hehe.

...and Dark Too!
After I have turned into a sparetime-photographer-wannabe, I have gotten painfully aware of the seasonal scarcity of light. It is (very) challenging to shoot in the dark, but quite fun though.
(Yes, these are from just before the snowfall.)

Kids and Bicycles
My mate Marc from Amsterdamize took this cracking shot and I just had to add it here, right away. Brilliant Cycle Chic.
And this one of Marc's reminded of this one I took in Paris on my last visit:
Which made me remember La Rochelle, where I had just arrived from, and one of our summer holidays on Ile de Ré a few years back where Felix sat on the kid seat on my bike and, as a rule, slept all the way home from the beach. Six kilometres each way.
Which made me think about this year's summer holiday on the island of Bornholm:
And now I miss summer.
EDIT by Lars:
Seing this subject Mikael, I just have to throw in this one from today:
I can´t help smiling when I look at the three little girls in front just having a great time.

Where Are The Bikes?
I just realized that the actual bike content is extremely subtle on some of my recent shots. But since you are here in the first place, I can safely assume that You, dear reader, have no problem in mentally constructing the "whole" image.
I still don´t know how the background turned out so uniformly brownish tones. But I love photographic surprises. A Caramel Night.
