Cool Copenhagen Cruisers
We have a few custom cruiser bikes cruising Copenhagen streets in the weekends showing off their super-long, ultra-low rides. Above: True 50's look for a perfect custom cruiser fit. Below: If not the longest ride, surely the longest handle bars in Copenhagen.
Happy Orange!
Love the beer can holder. Wonder what happens when he opens it?
Soft cruiser style for the daily commute.

Cycle Chic, Cycle Hip, Cycle Cool on Venice Beach (LA)
In the car-oriented city of Los Angeles, Venice Beach is a small paradise for the cyclists. Not only because of the beach cycle trail along the waterfront but also since many cycle lanes cover the district.
Abbot Kinney boulevard is the street where a mix of chic, hip and cool cyclists appreciate hanging out.

Denim mini shorts & leather boots remain a classic in California.

Abbot Kinney - himself - on a bike for the up-coming festival.
Nowadays, on Abbot Kinney boulevard, cruiser bikes are no longer the only choice as you can also find vintage city bicycles. Linus, a local brand, inspired by other brands from Europe, has its showroom there.

Riding the Bull
Riding your Beach Cruiser bike in style can take a little practice because you are handling an unwieldy oversized bullhorn-shaped bar. On the other hand for shear looks Beach Cruiser bars surely help you glide majestically through the city.
No rush here.
Enjoying the bare essentials of cycling. No gears, no basket.
And a dedicated follower of fashion…
Happy Cycling!

Bondi Beach Cruisers
This is brilliant. A cool film feat. Australian Cycle Chic for Bondi Beach Cruisers made by +61 Collective. Cycle Chic is lovin' this on this, the last day of summer in Copenhagen. So says the weather gurus, anyway.

Freiburg, Germany Junior Cycle Chic
One of our readers, Lee, sent us an email:
Greetings from Freiburg Germany. My family loves your site and I was wondering if you could post a photo of my daughter on her cool cruiser. She would get a kick out of it. Keep up the good work.
Our pleasure, Lee! Duly blogged! Thanks for sending us the shots.

Gentlemen Cyclists
Loving the blue scarf action on this chap.
Look at all those flowers! I would love to know the story behind this scene.

México Cycle Chic - Reforma Sunday / 01
Every Sunday the impossibly wide Reforma boulevard in the centre of México City is closed off to cars for a few hours. The result? Thousands of Méxicanos get to reclaim the streets, for a while at least, and it's one big, happy bicycle ride up and down the long boulevard. A fantastic array of bicycles under the bums of friends, families, you name it.
Here's four friends looking smashingly cool and enjoying the ride.

Mexico Cycle Chic - The Return
Just got home from a brilliant trip to México City, so sorry for the sporadic posting the last few days. I have a billion photos to sort and upload, plus film and suchlike pandemonium. Here's a teaser.
Stayed tuned. Mexico City is a mad, brilliant, fantastic place and the bicycle is back.

The State of Washington
Our friend and photographer Derek from Washington State has a couple of new photos to share. Cycle Chic perfection, as always.
Derek has been nominated as the best wedding photographer in his region, and you can cast your vote in his favour over at this website.

Cool Cats at the Bike Race
Caught this cool chap at the Cargo Bike Race. Or maybe he was merely browsing the flea market next to the race course. Now I'm not particularly interested in his bike but I asked what kind it was. In typical Copenhagen fashion, he shrugged and said he bought it online but couldn't remember the name. It's not about the bike, it's about you... on the bike. And this bike worked perfectly for him.
Copenhageners enjoyed the sunshine at the race. Here's a little slice of Copenhagen life. Friend embracing a friend on a cargo bike and another chap speeding past with beers.
We have fixies here in Copenhagen apparently. Which is cool. Here's one of the Copenhageners who ride them.

Flying
Acting as a live metaphor for bicycling, a young gull flew at least 50 meters side by side with this urban cruiser.
I think I have probably reached my quota of photos taken on this bridge, but I feel that this shot makes for a good finale of the series.

Collegiate Cruisers
An American company, The Collegiate Bicycle Company, markets cruisers for that uniquely American, tribal university crowd. You can get bikes branded for your college or your fraternity/sororiety - the latter is a concept that has always escaped me - it's all Greek to me - but at least it always looks like they have fun.
What I like best is their marketing of the products. Collegiate Cycle Chic to the max, dude - pronounced 'dood', bien sûr. Skirts and bikini tops and smiling girls on bikes. It could be any Danish beach in the summer.
The company has plans to start bike share programmes on campuses in the States, which is a brilliant idea. It must be easier to implement them on a university campus than in a bureacratic city council. They exist already but more of them will be brilliant.
