With the the success of Danish crime series "The Killing" the main character Sarah Lund's Faroe island knitwear sweater suddenly morphed into an unlikely fashion statement. Above the original. Below a typical variation over the same knitware theme.
This type of knitware is found in all Nordic countries - here an Icelandic style knitware.
A lighter summer version - Norwegian style.
And yes - men wear them too. However, not as much as when I was young.
Happy cycling!

I loved the American version of The Killing but hope to see the original version on CD sometime. My mother-in-law knitted a beautiful Nordic cardigan for me last year. It's thick and snuggly, which was truly perfect for Flagstaff's frigid weather. Unfortunately, now in Phoenix, it hasn't yet been cold enough to pull it out.
Could see that Sarah Lund also has a knitwear sweater in the US series. Wonder if it had any impact there as in Denmark and the UK?
