Denmark is possibly the best country in the World for kids. And Danish kids are – like the Danes – the happiest in the World. They enjoy tremendous freedom of movement and bicycles play a large part in making that possible.
From around 12 years old, most children are allowed to bike around town to school, with friends or wherever they need to go.
And even at night you can see young girls biking alone through Copenhagen’s streets.
It makes growing up in Denmark very special. Only a handful of other countries can offer the same freedom and independence.
Happy Cycling!

In the states we're happy, happy thanks to Big Pharma! But things weren't always this way. When I was kid back in Ohio, many, many moons ago, we went everywhere and pretty much anywhere, on our bikes.
and here in Australia where I have moved to they confiscate your bike if you refuse to wear a helmet and repeatedly ride a bike as well are seriously considering enforcing number plates on bikes to prevent bikes running red light.
The bicycle infrastructure is so poort that traffic light don't register bikes hence never change unless a car triggers it. Bike lanes are used as turning lanes for cars etc. etc.
Kafka your world seem comparably sane
Yeah, so happy to eat bad quaality 7 Eleven food, like the first photo shows...
Seriously, Denmark and Copenhagen are great within the conformity boundaries, but how can this Mr. Mellbin write such a comment: "Denmark is possibly the best country in the World for kids. And Danish kids are – like the Danes – the happiest in the World."
While that might be true, I find unbelievable that someone from Denmark could believe in that "World Happiness Report" stuff about Danes being the happiest on earth.
Thanks for reading.
