I actually don't mind grafitti. I can live without tagging, but grafitti gives the urban landscape an edge. And here it provides a nice rough contrast with elegance in the foreground.
There was a time when grafitti was prevalent on NYC subways. Not just the quick marker tags but very elaborate and colorful schemes on complete cars. I think that because this was before the internet being mainstream, it was also an outlet of expression. I remember seeing one that had elegant poetry/prose which used the whole car. It stunned me to think about the social situation. -Tho, I don't mind the clean cars now :)
