Ride your bicycle, absolutely. Do it daily. But don't underestimate the possibilities of using the bicycle for all manner of transport. Like in this lovely photo taken in the Nouveau Bo-Bo neighbourhood of Vesterbro. Kids and their supermum heading home from kindergarten/school.

Fabulous image, Mikael. I particularly love the nonchalant attitude of the children, especially the boy!
Classic.

Love it, love it. I borrowed your Rush hour clip for my blog. Hope thats ok!
would that be the photographer reflected in the glass just ahead of the handlebars? :-)
Apropos: Jeg faldt over dette skønne klip om (bla.) den københavnske cykelkultur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrW7MTwN9ss&feature=player_embedded#!
I just noticed that very few riders in your photos wear sunglasses. I'm in the southern U.S. and wear them all the time! Is it a cultural preference or just much brighter over here?
Marijka, Denmark is fery far to the north (Mikael made a blog post about light and the absence of it in winter), so I think it's just much brighter over there.
For comparison, open google maps, set a placemark in Denmark and one in your homestate, and zoom all the way out.
Notice how Florida is as southernly as Tunisia and Denmark is as northernly as Labrador.
Thanks for the answer, William. Here in Kentucky we get bright sunlight even in winter, and it was often sunny when I lived up north for a while in Detroit and Cleveland (almost in Canada). Hmm... maybe I just don't like to squint. :-)
Haha, I'm certainly not going to belittle Detroit's (or Cleveland's) closeness to the Canadian border, but the border does take a mighty dip right there. If you want to go as far north as Denmark is, you'll actually have to go to the "Polar Bear Provincial Park" in northern Ontario.
Of course, because of the Gulf stream, we have it much warmer, and because of the inland climate you have it (relatively) much colder, so I don't think you're squeamish for wanting to wear sunglasses.
It must be much brighter there.
I don't know how to do an absolute comparison, though.
Maybe I need to research how many days of sunshine per year in Denmark compared to Kentucky...
