Some people just get what our Cycle Chic thang is all about. It's time to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to see what the Bike Beautiful gang is getting up to. What a fantastic little film about their bike ride. R. Neil Weismiller, the man behind the dusty, desert bicycle beauty sent us the film and was gushing about the wonderful day that was had by all.
Well, if you must visit, just make sure you have your papers in order, especially if you have brown skin, and especially especially if you have a hispanic accent. This means never leaving your residence without proof of USA citizenship, proof of legal residence, or your tourist visa. Arizona has seen fit to set aside the 4th amendment guarrentees against search and seizure without probably cause.
Better yet, just go some where that isn't run by paranoid racists (no offense to the Bike Beautiful people).
i echo what @zencycle said. it's so sad because arizona is such a beautiful state with a rich history, but in the past month they have done a lot to reverse civil rights for not just undocumented immigrants, but also for domestic partners. it's really amazing the speed at which this is happening.
also, no offense to the 30% of the state that does not feel that those actions are ok.
i've been riding to work and everywhere else in Tucson for 5 years now and there's a generally funky vibe here as reflected in the video! it's a fun place to ride if you can avoid the generally aggressive cars...
and regarding the immigration bill...Arizona's maybe overall supporting it but Tucson definitely is not! the county sheriff has said his department will not enforce the law and the Tucson City Council voted 5:1 to sue the state in regards to it! at least there's a pocket of sanity.
Have loved cycle chic for a long time, and glad to see a group here in Tucson... time to dust off my bike and find the bike beautiful people.... AND Tucson general votes liberal... we are NOT Arizona!!

wow! That's really fun that I want to go with.
I would argue that the ukulele is the perfect soundtrack to all cycle chic videos.

fortunately things are already happening to try to reinstate the civil rights of the citizens of their state.
