Cycle Chic Goes to St. Petersburg
Cycle Chic is off to St. Petersburg, Russia this Friday. For the opening of the Dreams on Wheels exhibition, some other business-related activities and a groovy Cycle Chic bike ride on Saturday, hosted by the Danish Consulate General.
What a perfect opportunity to re-post the Cycle Chic Goes to Moscow vid from last year. Music by the always cool PocoCox. Moscow is a tough act to follow but I'm looking forward to visiting St. P for the first time in ... oh... 20 years.
And do check out our Cycle Chic bike gang homies in St. Petersburg! St. Petersburg Cycle Chic.

Your photos are amazing, and I love your blog! I love to bike, but I have a dilemma. I have a bony bum, which makes it uncomfortable to partake is the joys of cycling. Do you, or anyone else have any suggestions?
Eat a lot and try to get fat?
Buy a cushy saddle, for your comfort?
I cant believe your bum would be so bony that it stops you from cycling...
Cycling is not so different from sitting on any given chair or stool or bench you may choose.
Finding the right bike and the right saddle for your body should do the trick.
Cheers,
Tiago.
Yes, St. Petersburg Cycle Chic! I was in St. Petersburg in 2007 and wish I could have cycled the city!
Brooks saddle. Easy (after the initial agony of course).
@ rivqah, everyone is different, but there are lots of different saddles out there it is just a case of finding one that is right for you.
Some manufactures make saddles in a range of widths and have a special cushion to sit on to measure the width of your sit bones, and so work out which size is right for you. It is worth just checking round a few bike shops.
Odd, is the sound track missing?
Opps, turns out to be my computer...
I had expected it to be tremendously uncomfortable on a bicycle seat (Arthritis is the primary complaint, gout is secondary) But the standard seat on a Torker Cargo T is fine, though I am looking for more than fine! I have to use wheel chair cushions to pad my chairs, and that's not convenient, but Schwinn has a seat padded with the same stuff. (Look on Amazon for visco elastic bicycle seat, and see if something shows up.) Of course finding the right seat is a bit more than that, but I found an Avenir seat that is just about right for me.
There are loads of saddles out there for the boniest of bums. Here's a post we did for inspiration.
Thank you all so much for your advice. I definitely will not give up on cycling because of my "bony bum." :)
