The bicycle in Copenhagen is an extension of yourself, a fifth limb. It follows you everywhere.
Funky socks.
Shopping bag adding a splash of colour to the street.
Bikes rule.
There's no school like the old school. Timeless.
Addendum:
A few people have, in the comments, asked what the green building is in the first photo.
It's the tower on one of the bridges over the harbour where the drawbridge master sits, raising and lowering the bridge.
There's another variation, larger, on the other main bridge over the harbour.
I will always prefer to see women riding.....but I guess men must have a chance...
ReplyDeleteLove love love your blog. Inspired me to start my own biker series in Amsterdam!
ReplyDeletediagonals ligns make the first picture really dynamic. That's awesome. Strange it make me think about Ireland.
ReplyDeleteKeep going to give us pearl of beauty every day.
you have a great idea about blogging. unique and exciting photos were here.
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect place in cycling. I love bike but I only ride it in adventure places like small hills.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the green copper clad structure behind the cyclist in the first image? It looks very cool (I'm an architect as well as cyclist). Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. 1 and 3 are so modern classic stylish and cool biking.
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome group of photos! It's curious that they all have bags, but none have baskets to put them in. I think of copenhagen cyclists as being both stylish AND practical, so I find the lack of baskets suprising. Why do women's bikes have baskets but men's do not?
ReplyDeleteYep, like for Bill, Pittsburgh, I'm afraid the boat-like Art Deco building's architecture stole the show for me this time. It is nice to see some jaunty hommes as well - I'm sure they must be part of the cycling scene in KBH as well...?
ReplyDelete"Why do women's bikes have baskets but men's do not?"
ReplyDeleteFor the same reason men have pockets, but women have handbags.
And yes, the conning tower house is the first thing that caught my eye as well.
O yes, a bike has become 'an extension' of my body. Very rarely do I leave my home without a bike attached to my hand. I walk (with my bike) , I cycle , I walk (with my bike) , I cycle ...
ReplyDeleteMy pollutive convertible I use only on that rare occasions when my bike can't serve my certain/particular needs.
I have a 'passion for old schools (the ones I once attended and the ones I didn't) I still visit them on my bike to sit on their steps , lawn/'quads' etc. Thanks for the wonderful photos.

i added an addendum to post about the green drawbridge tower.
ReplyDeletecheers
mikael
So basically what you're telling us is that top floor is the bridge bridge.
ReplyDeleteWow, even cooler. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLoving your blog + photos everyday. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteNice - they're cool. More please? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on the unique green building.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. The house (there are actually two different ones in this post) were amazing. They both have a similar structure, almost as if they were old light houses, or some kind of structure used for something else, converted to houses. Is that just my imagination, or have I lived in the USA all my life, and don't realize that people of other cultures are simply more creative and fun loving?
ReplyDeleteIf you know anything about them, would appreciate an email ( RichGriese@gmail.com ).
Cheers!
