Who doesn't like to be an inspiration? Thanks so much to Wytze, who sent us a mail. He has completed his graduation project which involved designing a ladies bicycle.
I just wanted to let you know your blog inspired me during my graduation project. As a tribute I made this picture I attached. Thank you for all your nice fotographs, they reminded me to focus on style not only on features. Wytze
Thanks so much, Wytze. And what a groovy bicycle you've designed. It's viewable here in the Graduation Project - The Movie! :-)
As far as style goes, I think Wytze's bike design is great. I am not usually tempted by modern bikes in the least, but this one is beautiful and intriguing. Nice job and perhaps I will get a chance to try one out some day!
News of radical new bikes are often only accompanied by 3D-renderings, so it's really great to see a finalized project. And the presentation was top-notch! It's all about how the bike is used, rather than the technical details. (and it looks like energy tranferral takes place inside the frame, most likely around the inside-outside of the giant crank. Belt-drive or chain idk.)
Lovely lines, great idea with the integrated lock at the handlebars, and the bottom bracket is to die for - so much so that I completely missed the internal drive train.
Wyte, you should also direct the commercials for this bike when it launches--I'm so intrigued after watching your film! I'm very curious about how your integrated bike lock deters those pesky bike thieves. Do the handlebar grips lock together in some way?

ReplyDeleteVery clean and flowing design. How is the energy transferred to the rear wheel? Is it a belt drive?

Any plans for it to go into production ? perhaps he could sell the design to an existing manufacturer

ReplyDeletewhat a great design and intruiging video... thanks for sharing.. good luck in the future Wytze!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bike. Where can I test one?
ReplyDeleteThanks Mikael for posting.
ReplyDeleteWithout the need for any words, the red show photo tells so clearly what my graduation project was about.
For production: This is a Concept, so not production ready. But if the responses are good, maybe Cannondale will continue with it.
Congratulations on that design Wytze!
