An Average Copenhagen Wednesday
Here's a little film I made on an average Wednesday afternoon in Copenhagen. I just stuck the camera on a bike next to the bike lanes, in two positions, for about 30 minutes each and just let it roll.
As you can see, the bicycles come in waves, just like other traffic, whenever the lights change at the intersection. This stretch of bike lane is the busiest in the western world, with between 30,000-35,000 cyclists a day.

Did you park it in front of the L v H shop, by any chance? Seems I noticed the same street, same area, in another of your videos with one of the *arrys dismounting with his dog and going into the shop...

I wish Australia would get onto this idea and make the cities more bicycle friendly! It would be great to see waves of cyclists like in Copenhagen! You are on my to-see travel list!
Safe bicycle lanes... we need them in the United States!
I was in Copenhagen in summer 2007. I was impressed that so many cyclists were cycling at 7:00 am. It was a constant stream like in this video.

How do you know that this is the busiest bike lane in the Western world? I mean, Amsterdam is very busy with bicycles as well, and I don't really see much difference.
Anon: well, I guess somebody counted the number of bicycles!
Amsterdam and Copenhagen are clearly equals. Both cities feature around 40% commuter trips by bike. According to our Dutch colleagues there are no streets in Amsterdam that have as many cyclists, even though there are many with 20,000 +.
It's just a question of layout. This street is unique because of it's placement.

Well, I regard the statistics as artistic freedom, unless someone can give a reliable source to establish the fact.
