Thank You, Farrah Fawcett

As a boy growing up in the Western World in the 70's and 80's, Farrah Fawcett was a difficult pop icon to avoid. I certainly didn't avoid her. Au contraire. All weak in the knees and what have you. While I preferred the other Charlie's Angel, Linda Whatshername, Farrah was everywhere, especially in my boyish heart.

Combine the legend of Farrah with retro bicycles and... oh dear me.

  1. Wow! Farah Fawcett on a bike - I guess I was wrong all along, and there really is a heaven.

So here's the thing between me and Farah: 1978. I was eight years old and in love. She had that Farah Fawcett hair. But then again, so did every other girl in the class. And about half the teachers too.

  2. I have chased perfect hair since I was 8 in 1978. How strange when people who were big for my generation start to die off. Can't say I like it.

    Damn, she was hot!

  3. Wow, television advertising was so unsophisticated (in terms of psychological tricks) back then!

  4. She was not my type, but I liked her natural-ness. Very sad that she died.

I have the same marine-blue Motobecane bicycle, only with a Mixte frame.
