Style Times Five

Style Times Three
Style Times Three.

Right Turn
Style Times Two.

Three plus Two is Five.

I'm off to Brussels this week. Let's see what Cycle Chic we can scavenge down there.

If you pick up any cycling snack ideas in Brussels do share...

Belgian food is out of this world.

Big fan of the blog for awhile now, what's not to like about girls and nice bikes.

Not so happy about the fact that as of a few days ago, something has changed with the feed, so in my news reader (NetNewsWire), all I see is the title, and I have to click thru to see the photos & text. Did you change something? Put it back the other way, please!

Ditto @Andrew. My feed is doing the same thing. This along with my delicious cup of Philz coffee in SF is a serious part of my morning. I fear change in the morning.

I want to ride in someone's cargo box! That should have nothing to do with any RSS feed : )

Riding in the cargo box is great. It reminds you of all the good things about being five years old. Just remember to use a pillow. Five year-olds are remarkably resilient.

someone in the US just blogged about giving her co worker a ride home in her bakfiet. I love seeing adults in the cargo bikes. My biggest fear for buying a sorte was that it's "shelf life" would be short. But I hope to keep using it long after the kids stop needing it.

2 questions for you.

1. How old are most kids when they "grow out" of riding in cargo bikes like the sorte? I'd assume most kids are riding on their own at a young age. but do kids still take a ride for longer rides or at times to move swiftly? ( my 5.5 yr old prefers the sorte to riding on her own. But she still has training wheels. If she's like her mama it will take her a while to master the 2 wheeler)

2. I'm curious of why the trikes are so popular in copengagen instead of two wheeler cargos. Or is it an even split. I know for me I feel more steady on three wheels. But I didn't grow up biking and learned to ride a bike at age 11. I'm still a wobbly two wheeler rider. I'm curious why such proficient cyclists choose trikes? Not that I'm complaining b/c I got to get a cool trike made by awesome people and get to see chic pics of people on the same trike...

thanks

kids are in the box until they're... a rough average... 10 or so. It's the prefered way to pick up kids at school/daycare. When they're 10ish+ they make their own way home.

copenhagen chooses 3 wheels because it was the first modern cargo bike. the christiania bike started it all in the 1980's. you rarely see two wheelers here although there are some. there's about 35,000 cargo bikes in Copenhagen and i'll guess that more than 30,000 of them are three wheelers.

Thanks for the response! I hope my daughter will think it's cool to catch a ride from mama at 10. My son too.
