Personally, I can live sub-zero temperatures. After all, people have been riding normal bikes in normal clothes all over the world for over 120 winters. The winter wind in Copenhagen, however, is a pain in the stylish ass. When it's a headwind, anyway. Tailwinds are a treat. The wind chill makes the temperature plunge, even before you start propelling yourself through the wind and increasing the chill. There isn't much else to do but muscle on through.
beautiful city and beautiful cyclists
ReplyDeleteI completely agree re wind vs. cold. I almost always have a tailwind on the way to work and a headwind on the way home. But yesterday the wind shifted and I had a direct 40km headwind on the way in. At least it brought with it warm air from the South.
ReplyDeletelove the pictures, but riding into a headwind is HORRIBLE :(
ReplyDeleteIn the spring and summer, the wind on my little mountain shifts midday. Headwind in the morning, headwind in the evening. It is HORRID! I get soooo tired
ReplyDeleteYes, the worst thing about riding in Chicago winters is the WIND! Freezing cold, snow, ice - no problem. The winds are tough, though, especially with my heavy oma. But the bright side - killer legs :)
ReplyDeletethe one nice thing about a headwind is the unexpected burst of warmth when you arrive at your destination.
